About us

A neologism, combining the Italian words "Violino" and "Chitarra", an excellent Austrian duo with two renowned professors and a CD called "Air" with compositions of J. S. Bach to Astor Piazzolla, the Csárdás of Vittorio Monti a.o. with excellent critics.

The CD "An die Musik" (virtuoso 19th century music for violin and guitar – Schubert: Arpeggione-Sonata, Paganini, Giuliani, Sarasate, Brahms) was released by Gramola.

The CD "Violarra – steirisch aufg´spielt ?!" is a live recording of a concert in the Florentinersaal of the University of Arts in Graz which contents exclusive music (some dedicated to Violarra) by contemporary Austrian composers.

The new CD "Violarra goes Baroque" includes compositions of J. S. Bach to Vivaldi, Haendel, Corelli und Tartini is available at

Concert tours took Violarra to South Korea, England, Slovakia, Italy, Serbia and Germany. Next tours will lead to Finland, Germany and Poland.

Johann Palier

Johann Palier studied classical guitar at Graz University of Music.
Laureat of the International Guitar Contest in Volos (Greece).
Assistant Professor at Graz University of Music. Professor of guitar at "Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory" (State Conservatory) in Graz.
Many of his students have come in first at national and international guitar competitions.
Big success with popular music: "Opus – Live is life", "White Stars", records in gold and platinum status.

8 CDs with solo guitar and chamber music (recorder, flute and violin).
Organizer of International Guitar Festival at Seckau Monastery, Austria held every year at the end of July.
Many times invited to be in Juries of guitar competitions at home and abroad.
Recordings for radio and television and concerts as soloist and chamber musician in many European, Asian and Central American countries.
"Concierto de Aranjuez" with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Guatemala - live performance recorded on Solo CD "Johann Palier ½ old - ½ new".

Helfried Fister

Helfried Fister

Helfried Fister received his musical education at the Carinthian Conservatory of Music under Prof. Gustav Mayer and then at the State University of Music in Cologne under Prof. Igor Ozim including chamber music studies under Prof. Günther Kehr.
His teaching work: Assistant to Prof. Ozim at the University of Music in Cologne.
Since 1989 head of a violin class at the Carinthian Conservatory of Music and since 1999 also at the Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatorium of Music in Graz. 1997-1999 visiting professor at the University of Music in Graz.

Alongside his extensive teaching activities Helfried Fister performs in concerts as soloist and chamber musician, takes courses in violin and chamber music and is a judge at competitions in many countries of the world.

He has made recordings for CDs, radio and television in Australia, Mexico, Slovenia and Austria.
