A neologism combining the Italian words "Violino" and "Chitarra", an excellent Austrian duo of two approved musicians and recognized teachers: Suceeding Helfried Fister on the violin, Daniela Hölbling and Johann Palier (guitar) now represent the Duo Violarra.
The debut CD "Violarra - Air" with compositions by J. S. Bach, Astor Piazzolla, the Csárdás of Vittorio Monti a.o. received enthusiastic reviews.
The CD "An die Musik" (virtuoso 19th century music for violin and guitar – Schubert: Arpeggione-Sonata, Paganini, Giuliani, Sarasate, Brahms) was released by Gramola.
The CD "Violarra – steirisch aufg´spielt ?!" is a live recording of a concert in the Florentinersaal (the concert hall of the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Graz) which exclusively contents music (some of which dedicated to Violarra) by contemporary Austrian composers.The new CD "Violarra goes Baroque" includes compositions by J. Concert tours took Fister/Palier to South Korea, England, Slovakia, Italy, Serbia, Poland, Slovenia and Germany. Recently Violarra has been on tour with the new violinist Daniela Hölbling.
